Congratulations to Wayside Bowler, Greg Johnstone who won the Harrogate 2022 Vets Merits on Thursday August 4th at Almscliffe Bowling Club. Greg had to defeat Paul Passman of Knaresborough and then David Spilsbury of Low Harrogate 21-20 to qualify for Final's Day. Wayside was well represented on the Final's Day with Greg being joined by teammates Malcolm Hamilton, and Steve Cochrane. In Greg's first match on Thursday he defeated Peter Syson of Low Harrogate in the Quarter-Finals, and then in the Semi-Finals, our own Malcolm Hamilton. This led to a Final of two Wayside Players, Greg and Steve Cochrane. In closely competitive match, Greg defeated Steve 21-17 thus winning his first HABA Vets Merit's Competition. Congratulation to all the Wayside members for their excellent showing in the Competition.
